COIVD update We 5-1-2021

COVID 19 update 32,419,584 total cases, 576,339 deaths. New cases, 349,526, a decrease of 122,502. 2,165 deaths last week a decrease of 217. Deaths per day, 1,451 since WE 4-29. Down 37 per day from last week. Deaths/day WE 5-1, 695. A decrease of 117/day. Six states still account for 25.385% of cases and 30% of deaths: NY, NJ, CT, CA, MA, WA. TX and FL 5,134,960 16% of cases and 85,6961 deaths, 15%. It is the 4th leading cause of death in the US. Death rate versus known cases, US infection rate, 2.4938%, mortality rate, .1746% New Jersey and New York have the highest rate of mortalities versus population at 11%. US recovery rate, 98.22%. States with the biggest increase over 10% from previous week, For the last three weeks this number has been flat. Not the case this week. Fifteen states exceed the 10% over mortality stat, Ill, IN, OH, MN, WA, WI, UT, DC, NM, OK, SD, NH, ME, VT, HI, Out of 4,868 motalities for all states, These fifteen account for 907 over 10%. Something isn’t right in West Virginia. Current number shows a decrease of -138 from last week. I have to go back to We 3-28 to find a lower number: 2,631. They reported 2,679 this week, yet all the preceding weeks, the number kept rising. Why the major discrepancy?  All other states are flat or have a 3% increase.   US accounts for 21,301% of known cases and 18.052% of mortalities, worldwide. Good to see this number slowly coming down. Comparison to other countries mortalities to population: Bosnia .2573%, Italy .2009%, Brazil .1940%, England .1868%, Peru .1891%, US .1746%, Mexico .1735%, Spain .1674%, France .1608%, Sweden .1364%, Since December, Australia had been holding steady. They’ve reported 2 mortalities and looks like there’s an uptick in cases. Will be watching to see how they cope. No change with Australia. These numbers come from the CDC and John Hopkins.

US recovery rate of those testing positive is 98.22%.

The big four results. FL 2%, NY and TX 1%, CA 0%.

Here’s a new stat worth looking at, mortalities per country: Brazil 406,437, Mexico 217,168, India 215,542, United Kingdom 124,524 (this is a drop from last week) Italy 121,033.

The news is filled with what’s going on in India. Why hasn’t Brazil received the same coverage? They are second in the world in mortalities, but not a peep from anyone. Why?

And why is our Southern border still open while cases continue to rise in Mexico, Central and South America?  Will the border be closed if cases start spiking again in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California from the flood of illegal immigrants? Something tell me, that won’t happen. Those states are going to have to take their own actions to protect their citizens.
