COVID Update 5-8-2021

COVID 19 update 32,713,671 total cases, 581,056 deaths. New cases, 249,087, a decrease of 55,439. 4,717 deaths last week an increase of 2,552! Deaths per day, 1,438 since WE 4-29. Down 13 per day from last week. Deaths/day WE 5-8, 605. A decrease of 90/day. Six states  account for 25.335% of cases and 30% of deaths: NY, NJ, CT, CA, MA, WA. TX and FL 5,180,121 16% of cases and 86,448 deaths, 15%. It is the 4th leading cause of death in the US. Death rate versus known cases, US infection rate, 2.5115%, mortality rate, .1761% New Jersey and New York have the highest rate of mortalities versus population at 11%. US recovery rate, 98.22%. States with the biggest increase over 10% from previous week, Zero. Something isn’t right in West Virginia (second week) and Alabama. They are reporting, a drop from previous weeks of -115 and -253. Why are these numbers being manipulated?     US accounts for 20.960% of known cases and 17.846% of mortalities, worldwide. Good to see this number slowly coming down. Comparison to other countries mortalities to population: Bosnia .2654%, Italy .2036%, Brazil .2011%, England .1915%, Peru .1911%, US .1761%, Mexico .1749%, Spain .1686%, France .1625%, Sweden .1376%, No change with Australia. These numbers come from the CDC and John Hopkins.

US recovery rate of those testing positive is 98.22%.

The big four results. FL, NY and TX 1%, CA 0%.

Here’s a new stat worth looking at, mortalities per country: Brazil 421,316, Mexico 218,928, India 242,347, United Kingdom 127,603, Italy 122,694.

The news is filled with what’s going on in India. Why hasn’t Brazil received the same coverage? They are second in the world in mortalities, but not a peep from anyone. Why? India lost 26,805, Mexico 21,10, Brazil 14,8791

Cases have been dropping in the US since WE 1-17, with an occasional spike. Same with mortalities, yet there was a 218% spike this week of 2,552. How and where did this happen?

Why is our Southern border still open while cases continue to rise in Mexico, Central and South America?  Will the border be closed if cases start spiking again in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California from the flood of illegal immigrants? Something tells me, that won’t happen. Those states are going to have to take their own actions to protect their citizens.
