COVID update we 5-15-2021

COVID 19 update 32,921,793 total cases, 584,725 deaths. New cases, 208,122, a decrease of 85,965. 3,669 deaths last week an decrease of 1,048. Deaths per day, 1,422 since WE 4-29. Down 16 per day from last week. Deaths/day WE 5-15, 592. A decrease of 12/day. Six states account for 25.289% of cases and 30% of deaths: NY, NJ, CT, CA, MA, WA. TX and FL 5,213,842 16% of cases and 87,070 deaths, 15%. It is the 4th leading cause of death in the US. Death rate versus known cases, US infection rate, 2.529%, mortality rate, .1772% New Jersey and New York have the highest rate of mortalities versus population at 11%. US recovery rate, 98.22%. States with the biggest increase over 10% from previous week, one-West Virginia. Something isn’t right in West. One week this state is up then down. What’s going on with their numbers?  US accounts for 20.225% of known cases and 17.352% of mortalities, worldwide. Good to see this number slowly coming down. Comparison to other countries mortalities to population: Bosnia .2654%, Brazi.2075%, Italy .2059%, England .1915%, Peru .1911%, US .1772%, Mexico .1760%, Spain .1698%, France .1625%, Sweden .1386%, No change with Australia. More good news, of the countries I follow, France, Russia, Armenia and Bosnia reported no new mortalities These numbers come from the CDC and John Hopkins.

US recovery rate of those testing positive is 98.22%.

The big four results. Increase in cases FL, NY 1%, TX, CA 0%.

Here’s a new stat worth looking at, mortalities per country: Brazil 434,715, Mexico 220,384, India 270,284, United Kingdom 127,668, Italy 124,0563.

The news is filled with what’s going on in India. Why hasn’t Brazil received the same coverage? They are second in the world in mortalities, but not a peep from anyone.

Why is our Southern border still open while cases continue to rise in Mexico, Mortalities increase 11% from the previous week and for some reason El Salvador and Honduras had no reporting.

For months the media bashed Trump for his handling of the virus. I approved on how he approached it from an administrative view and the “Warp Speed” program. I did not approve of his daily press conference as he tied to compete with Cuomo. It served no purpose and only gave the media more fodder, like they needed any more. Now, why isn’t the media talking about Biden’s numbers? Since taking office and proclaiming for months before and after the election, he knew how to combat it, it’s time for him to be accountable. 24% of new cases and 29% of deaths have occurred on his watch. And what’s going on with his administration trying to dismiss the term, “Operation Warp Speed.?” That would be like Truman renaming the “Manhattan Project.” Why is it so hard for he, his administration and the media to give credit where credit is due no matter how much you dislike a person?
