COVID 19 update 31,598,030 total cases, 565,778 deaths. New cases, 426,534, a decrease of, 49,421. 4,547 deaths last week a decrease of 2,382,. Deaths per day, 1,500 since WE 4-29. Down 8 per day from last week. Deaths/day WE 4-18, 642. A decrease of 642/day. Six states still account for 25.478% of cases and 30% of deaths: NY, NJ, CT, CA, MA, WA. TX and FL 5,003,286 16% of cases and 84,003 deaths, 15%. It is the 4th leading cause of death in the US. Death rate versus known cases, US infection rate, 2.4396%, mortality rate, .1714% New Jersey has the highest rate of mortalities versus population at 11%. US recovery rate, 98.21%. States with the biggest increase over 10% from previous week, None. All other states were stable at 1-2% increase. US accounts for 23.496% of known cases and 19.485% of mortalities, worldwide. Good to see this number slowly coming down. Comparison to other countries mortalities to population: Bosnia .2359%, Italy .1936%, England .1909%, Brazil .1774%, Peru .1747%, US .1714%, Mexico .1695%, Spain .1647%, France .1535%, Sweden .1329%, Since December, Australia had been holding steady. They’ve reported 2 mortalities and looks like there’s an uptick in cases. Will be watching how they cope.   These numbers come from the CDC and John Hopkins.

US recovery rate of those testing positive is 98.21%.

The big four results. NY continues to report a 2% increase each week. FL 2% TX 1% and CA 0%, Thought Cuomo had this beat, according to his book. Yet, each week the numbers keep going up. Good job Andrew.

Here’s a new stat worth looking at, mortalities per country: Brazil 371,678, Mexico 212,228, India 177,150, United Kingdom 127,260 Italy 116,676. Haven’t heard anything on Brazil have you? Brazil is having an explosion of cases and deaths.  On another note, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador have a combined 2% infection rate and our border is open to them why?

It has been one year since I started tracking the numbers. What have we learned? Good question. The news is bias for one. Politicians talk through both sides of their mouth for votes and people will post anything to support their position no matter how erroneous the facts are.  The WHO and CDC didn’t have a clue what they were fighting and constantly sent out mixed messages and they still are. I could list all of Fauci’s faux paus, but won’t. They are well document. I could list how many times Trump blundered while sparring with Cuomo, but won’t. That is also well documented. We did learn, that when used properly, the “War Powers Act” is still a very viable and useful tool: ventilators. We’ve learned that after a pandemic, the National Reserve must be replenished, immediately. This didn’t happen under Obama/Biden and H1N1 outbreak. The shelves were still empty when COVID hit. We’ve learned that we are way too dependent on China for medical supplies and ingredients for medicine. Trump was right about one thing, America first. We can no longer be held hostage for vital materials in any field. While we are a resilient people and can achieve the impossible in times of distress, we must have the raw materials and facilities to make sure we take care of own first and others second. That is the way you survive.

Think about when you’re on a plane and the flight attendant goes through the safety procedures. You don’t put the oxygen mask of your children first or those in distress. You apply yours first so you can save others. If you do the opposite, the chances of both of you surviving drop dramatically.
